How to attract men through photos?

When it comes to attracting men through photos, there are various suggestions and tips available on the internet. One article suggests that having a professional headshot, a full-body shot, a love shot, an epic dress photo, and a photo with friends can attract the right man. Another article recommends having a variety of photos that showcase your personality, such as photos of you doing your hobbies. However, it's important to note that the preferences of men vary and there is no one-size-fits-all answer. Additionally, some women may choose not to use social media, and there is a slow trend of women being attracted to men who don't use social media. Ultimately, the best way to attract the right man is to be true to yourself and showcase your personality through your photos.

From Tinder to eHarmony and everything in between, your profile picture instantly determines which men notice you and why. It's no secret that men are visual creatures, and getting the right guy's attention starts the moment your face pops up on his screen. Without an effective profile picture, a guy won't give you a second of his time. He won't look at your other pictures, he won't read your profile - you won't get another chance. It doesn't matter if you have the most quirky profile text or if your third photo is of you doing a hobby he absolutely loves - if you haven't caught his eye with your profile picture, you're dead in the water. So here are 9 secrets to choosing the right profile picture that will always grab his attention - for all the right reasons.

It should be a high-quality face shot
It's imperative that your online profile picture is a good close-up of your face. Don't go for long or sporty shots - a guy should get an immediate idea of who you are and what you look like right away. A clear, high-resolution face shot is the way to do this. Your face shot should be one of your best. This doesn't mean you have to go to extremes with your hair and make-up, but it has to be enough to make them stop scrolling and grab their attention. Enough to make them want to click over to the most important part - your profile.

Don't cover up
This should be obvious, but I'm amazed at how many women wear sunglasses or have poor lighting in their face shots. Hats should also be avoided. Your whole face - every aspect of it - should be clearly visible in your profile picture.

Don't take the mirror selfie
It's never clear, it's backwards, and there are better photos of you. Either take a direct/nice selfie or have a friend take a headshot for you. Don't use mirrors!

No one else in the photo!
I can't tell you how many women I and other men have immediately dismissed online because there was another person in their profile picture. Girl or guy - it doesn't matter. If a man is even slightly confused about who you are, he'll rule you out without a second thought (unless he just wants sex and doesn't care). Don't use a photo with someone else cut out, and don't even use a photo with your child (he's dating you, not your children). Your profile picture should be clear and unambiguous - you.

Avoid too much sex
A guy shouldn't be thinking 'sex' any more than a guy normally would when he sees a woman's face. Cleavage and excess skin will lead you to a higher proportion of guys after casual encounters and get you attention for the wrong reasons. If you're looking for more than casual, don't be too sexual. Your profile picture should make him think "Wow, she's gorgeous" rather than "Wow, I want to hit that".

Avoid being too businesslike
Just as you don't want a guy to think 'sex' the moment he sees you, you don't want him to think 'businesswoman'. This is online dating, not a job interview. Wear something that represents your feminine side. Wear colour Studies have shown that women who wear colour in their profile pictures get more and better replies. Red is always the proven leader, but blues, oranges, pinks and greens have all been proven to outperform your boring shades - black, white, brown and tan - when it comes to getting a guy's attention. Flirty face, look into the camera Unlike men, a study by found that women get more hits if they look directly at the camera in their profile picture. The same study found that a flirty face with a slight smile got them the best results.

Make sure it's recent
Finally, your profile picture should reflect who you are. Right now. Today. If it's more than 6 months old, 12 months at the most, get rid of it. If you've changed your look recently, get rid of it. There is enough deception

Emily Ratajkowski models a skimpy Inamorata bikini on a Brazilian beach in sexy flashback photos

Emily Ratajkowski made jaws drop as she posed in a colourful bikini while promoting her Inamorata brand in flashback photos shared on Instagram on Thursday.

The My Body author, 32 - who recently made a statement in a skin-tight minidress during an outing in New York - was celebrating the "last stock" of her collaboration with Mirror Palais.

In the series of photos, the mum-of-one donned a striking swimsuit from the line, showing off her toned physique in the Caraiva patterned triangle bikini top, which retails for $90, according to the official website.

The former Nickelodeon actress also wore a matching thong bikini, also available for $90.

Her long locks were parted down the middle and flowed naturally over her shoulders in light waves.

In the images - which were uploaded to Inamorata's main Instagram page - another model wore a similar bikini made from a Foguinho pattern, which included shades of red, blue and yellow.

Emily struck some of her favourite poses as she lounged on the sandy shore with waves crashing next to her.

Behind her, a variety of buildings and mountains bordered the beach on the partly cloudy day.

The other model who had joined Ratajkowski was seen snapping photos of the beauty with her camera, and at one point was also seen spraying sunscreen on Emily as the sun shone down on them.

In the caption of the post, the star wrote: 'That's right...we just did a last restock of our sold out @mirrorpalais collab. shop now'. She added the letters 'BR' to show her fans that the shoot took place during a lavish trip to Brazil.

Emily launched her swimwear and lingerie brand, Inamorata, in 2017 and opened up about her business in a previous interview with Harper's Bazaar.

'Having my own business and working with a group of women that I love, that are my friends... it's been so enjoyable,' she gushed to the outlet.

What I like about my career now is that things are more in my hands and under my control. Failures feel more like bumps in the road than huge losses and I feel less affected by other people saying no,' the media personality added.

At 57, Cindy Crawford Is Still Serving Up the Very Best Beauty Looks

One of the original ’90s supermodels, Cindy Crawford’s face has graced countless magazine covers, campaigns, and runways in her 30-plus years in the fashion industry. Her sun-kissed brunette mane, striking brows, and beauty spot have long made her the kind of beauty on whom all manner of make-up and hair looks shine, although her signature is natural, fresh skin and a defined eye.

That said, bold red lipstick was her go-to for an evening out in her twenties and thirties, when she dabbled in full glamour—think voluminous blow dries, diamonds and a killer stare. She’s always been faithful to glowing, bronzed skin, but Crawford has upped the ante in the luminosity department in recent years, adding metallic eyeshadows and dewy base products into her beauty arsenal. Her daughter, Kaia Gerber, has inherited her easy, low-maintenance approach to beauty and the two are often compared, which is no surprise given that Kaia is the spitting image of her mother when she was younger.

When asked last year by British Vogue what the secret to taking a perfect selfie was, the supermodel delivered the rather fabulous response: “Honey, I’ve been modeling for 30 years.” As she graces Vogue’s September cover alongside her fellow supers, see some of the highlights from her three decades in front of the camera, below.

Former ‘Teen Mom OG’ Star Opens Up About Being “Cancelled” After Making Racially Insensitive Statement: “It Was Hell For Two Years”

Mackenzie McKee says she had some very dark days after she made a racially insensitive statement on Facebook about Vice President Kamala Harris. The comment contributed to her being let go from her job on Teen Mom OG and sent her life into a downward spiral.

“It was hell for two years,” Mackenzie said during a recent interview with the Sarasota SpeaX podcast. “My business [Body By Mac] went under. Every day was emails and messages like, ‘I can’t believe I prayed for your mom. She probably taught you this, I’m so glad she’s dead. You need to be cancelled.'”

As The Ashley reported at the time, Mackenzie made a statement in January 2021 on her private Facebook page about Vice President Kamala Harris.

“It blows my mind that out of all the amazing colored women in this world, that is the one who is making history,” she wrote.

Once word got around The Interwebs that Mackenzie had used the term “colored,” Mackenzie was criticized harshly. However, she later insisted— and still insists— that she was unaware that the term ‘colored’ was racist.

“I meant to say ‘amazing woman of color and I said ‘amazing colored woman,’” Mackenzie said in an Instagram Live video made a few months later.

In the same video, Mackenzie claimed the producers used her as a pawn to talk about racism, stating that they also required her to go through weeks of “training” for her apology.

“Basically to stay on the show, they wanted me to do a thing where a [Black Lives Matter] organization educates me,” Mackenzie said. “That was the agreement to stay on the show. For a month I was trained on how to say sorry.”

“I was on these phone calls [with BLM organizations], hours and hours. I’d film one thing, it wasn’t good enough,” she said. “I took three weeks off work to be trained on the right thing to say to fit MTV’s agenda.”

Despite all the training, Mackenzie was let go from ‘Teen Mom OG.’ (Technically, she was never informed that she was “fired”; she was simply not called to film again.)

HK Star Rain Li Uses Hermès Birkin Bag As Dog Carrier

Recently, Hong Kong actress Rain Li, 39, shared on Xiao Hong Shu a selfie she'd taken with her puppy Creamy. In the photo, Creamy was sitting in not a dog carrier but an Hermès Birkin Shadow bag which costs about HK$400K (S$68.8K).

The Birkin Shadow was introduced in 2009 when French fashion designer Jean-Paul Gaultier was Hermès' creative director. The super rare bag, which gives the optical illusion on whether the front straps and flaps are real or not, was reintroduced into the market with limited pieces in 2019. It is just one of the many Hermès bags Rain owns. When she acted in 2022 Hong Kong drama Modern Dynasty, she used her own HK$200K (S$34K) black Hermès Birkin on the show.

She also has a HK$150K (S$26K) Hermès Kelly Pochette, a HK$140K (S$24K) Hermès Kelly Danse and an Hermès Quelle Idole bag (aka Kelly Doll bag) which has a resale value of HK$1.5mil (S$258K). We're not exactly surprised by Rain's Hermès bag collection given how she has a HK$200mil (S$34mil) net worth. The actress, who joined showbiz in 2006, is said to be a really good investor when it comes to real estate. According to reports, Rain now has 12 properties, which are worth more than HK$100mil (S$17.2mil) in total, in places like Hong Kong, Australia, the UK, and Thailand.

Why Did Korean Star Lee Seung Gi Choose Tasha Low As The Local Female Celeb He Wants To Work With?

Korean star Lee Seung Gi, 36, was recently in town for his Asia Tour, where he met #JustSwipeLah host, Seow Sin Nee for a chat. There, the very sporting multi-hyphenate played a short game, where he had to pick local celebs to work with purely based on pictures presented to him.

He was first shown pictures of three female actresses, Fann Wong, Carrie Wong, and Tasha Low, and asked whom he wished to collaborate with most. His choice? Tasha Low (who happens to speak Korean!) His reason? “Romantic comedies and melodramas are coming back as a trend”. Hmm, what’s he saying about Fann and Carrie?

Of the three male actors he saw - Christopher Lee, Zhu Houren, and Zhang Zetong, Seung Gi knew that his choice was going to be Chris “at first sight”. “He has the facial features and aura of the [type of] actor that I like,” said the star.

Seung Gi was then shown pics of Mark Lee, Quan Yifeng and Das DD, and asked to pick the host he wanted to work with. After pondering for a moment, Seung Gi picked Yifeng, “purely by feeling”. He then elaborated on his reasons for choosing Yifeng, saying that her “aura” reminded him of Korean host, Kang Ho Dong, with whom he’s known to have a close relationship.

Lastly, Seung Gi was asked to choose between three local musicians: JJ Lin, Stefanie Sun, and Shigga Shay. The other musicians stood no chance, for Seung Gi already knew about JJ. “I love [JJ Lin’s] song. He is great at playing the piano [and] he sings sentimental ballads that I love. If there is a chance, I want to collaborate and work on music with him,” gushed the JJ fan.

Michelle Keegan's £35 midi dress that 'looks lovely with heels or trainers'

Michelle Keegan's latest fashion collection with online retailer Very has been given a huge price cut ahead of the new season. The Our Girl star, 36, looks incredible in her newest pieces on Very.co.uk - including a 'beautiful' knitted midi dress.

Normally £50, the Michelle Keegan Button Through Pointelle Knitted Midi Dress has been reduced to just £35 in the retailer's current Bank Holiday sale. This allows shoppers to save an impressive £15 on the chic piece.

Great for transitional months, Michelle's hot-pink dress comes in a stunning A-line shape. It features floaty angel sleeves, a V-neckline and delicate pointelle detailing. We love how the design highlights your waistline whilst being wonderfully twirl-worthy.

Due to being so popular, the pink frock is nearly sold out, however there are some sizes still available.

One delighted shopper, who purchased from Very two months ago, left a positive review of the Michelle Keegan dress. The person penned: "Lovely comfy dress very elegant on, can be worn with a pair of high heels or flat trainers, true to size."

Another happy reviewer said: "Beautiful dress, lovely fit and swing on the skirt, but I would size down."

The Very dress is already a hit online

Very's Michelle Keegan Button Through Pointelle Knitted Midi Dress can be purchased for £35, but it's best to act fast. It's currently running an epic Bank Holiday sale, which is expected to end soon.Michelle was recently compared to a Hollywood movie star as she posed up a storm on a glamorous Italian holiday.

The Ten Pound Poms star can be seen enjoying the Mediterranean sun with her husband, Mark Wright, in one of her latest Instagram snaps.

Actress Angela Lonsdale told her pal she reminded her of a "Hollywood movie star". Meanwhile, another fan commented: "Absolutely fabulous! Gorgeous darling."

Even Celebs Can’t Escape the Overdressed GF, Underdressed BF Trope

Don’t you hate it when you get all dressed up to promote your skincare brand’s new collaboration with a national donut chain and your husband shows up in a groutfit with a trucker hat pulled over his tightly tied hoodie and a pair of bright yellow Crocs? If you feel seen by this quagmire, know that you aren’t alone. Hailey Bieber recently found herself in this very predicament with her husband Justin: a classic case of what the internet has dubbed “Overdressed GF, Underdressed BF.”

Always put-together, Mrs. Bieber regularly steps out in chic minidresses and high heels. Justin, on the other hand, has become known as a serial under-dresser, consistently wearing hoodies, baggy jeans, oversized tees, and backwards caps to date nights and other events where “casual” probably isn't the operative word in the dress code. But hey, he’s the Biebs!

On an April date night at their favorite restaurant, Giorgio Baldi, Hailey Bieber dressed to the nines in a sleek LBD and black tights with pointed black pumps. Justin Bieber, for his part, wore house shoes, albeit from his own label Drew House. (He has a thing for slippers. he previously stepped out in a Louis Vuitton monogrammed set in 2019 and, in 2018, a pair straight from the hotel.)

Gotham

The Biebers have long embodied the extremes of the Overdressed GF, Underdressed BF dichotomy. But the most recent instance, which occurred on the day Hailey launched her Krispy Kreme collaboration with her skincare company Rhode, seemed particularly relatable online. “He’s always dressed like he’s about to go help his mom bring in groceries from the car,” user @SaeedDiCaprio wrote on Twitter. Others joked about the frustration that comes with being dragged down by association. “Id be so angry if i was giving the girls my best look of the year and here come my husband,” @siyyaninaas said.

Although he didn’t deck himself out in head-to-toe strawberry merch, Justin was ever the supportive husband, posting a sweet Instagram dedicated to Hailey and the launch. Behind-the-scenes videos also captured Jusin in full IG Husband mode, snapping pictures of his beloved in front of her Times Square billboard. “very unpopular opinion but i kinda love that he clearly doesn’t want the attention on him. he wants her to stand out for her OWN event while he just shows up to show her love from the sidelines and i honestly love that,” a user named Isabel tweeted.

But the Biebers’ complete inability to dress for the same occasion has become the most relatable thing about them. Who among us hasn’t thrown up their hands in defeat when they’ve put in an hour getting ready and their boyfriend rocks up in a pair of busted overalls and Crocs? And while the highly memed fashion divide is a largely heteronormative phenomenon, it’s resonated with the queer community. “Me when i show up somewhere with my femme girlfriend,” writer Kristen Arnett tweeted about the Rhode launch.

It’s not just the Biebers. Scores of couples—even famous ones—are plagued by the Overdressed GF, Underdressed BF phenomenon. See: Miley Cyrus and Patrick Schwarzenegger, who wore a three-piece neon pink fishnet outfit and a gray t-shirt and jeans, respectively to a Moschino event. Adam Sandler wore a Knicks hoodie to his own movie premiere while his wife Jackie donned an LBD and heels. It even applies to George and Amal Clooney, when she wore a gold minidress to his Casamigos tequila event while he opted for a white button-down and jeans. (While it’s worth pointing out that the underdressed parties here are men, and there is a certain expectation for women to always appear presentable, these are ladies who are inclined to pull out a look in any situation.) And although not much else about the lives of the rich and famous are relatable, at least we're able to find common ground over their mismatched outfits. My colleague Christian Allaire is a fierce defender of Justin’s sartorial choices: “There's something commendable about him always sticking to his own fashion sense—oftentimes, couples share a wardrobe, or at least a general aesthetic. But his devotion to his Drew House hoodies and his beloved Crocs, to me, expresses individuality,” he says. “I kind of love that he doesn't care what everyone thinks.” I'm inclined to agree. You can always tell when a partner (in most cases, a straight man) has become a dress-up doll, itchy and uncomfortable in a clearly coordinated outfit. The Biebers have found what works for them as individuals—even if it is memeable from the outside.

Like death and taxes, being dressed in diametric opposition to your partner is one of life's few guarantees. So let's salute the Biebers, and all couples who aren't fighting their sartorial differences and are staying true to themselves in front of God and the entire internet.

The cover photo shows Crawford's husband Randy Gerber, 60, gazing out at the ocean horizon as the sun sets. Crossed at the ankles, Crawford's feet make an appearance in the image.

The next few shots are examples of Crawford doing what she does best: modelling editorial looks.

In one, she leans against a wall, clad (apparently) only in a black trench coat and fishnet stockings, giving us more than a glimpse of her famous legs.

With soft glam make-up and damp hair strewn across her face, the beauty icon accessorised the sexy look with a pair of diamond flower earrings, an oversized flower brooch and a shiny necklace.

Crawford also showed off her leg in a second image, posing in a bathrobe with half of her brunette locks pinned up at the crown of her head.

The businesswoman went for a more wholesome rather than sultry look in another image, smiling as she basked in the sunlight with bright green foliage in the background.

Following her sunny selfie, she shared a sign amongst the greenery that reads "Thankful".

In between her glamour shots, Crawford shared some snaps from her everyday life, including a picture of her Maltese Yorkie puppy Widget and an ensemble of beauty products in her bathroom sink: a mini perfume bottle, her Meaningful Beauty anti-aging cream, ginger-grapefruit scented deodorant, her Tom's toothpaste and a pink toothbrush.

Wearing a slim beige coat over a black dress and fishnets, she noted the ensemble was for 'Girl's Night Out' and added a black heart emoji.

Japan's decluttering queen Marie Kondo says she has 'given up' on keeping her home clean

Japanese decluttering queen Marie Kondo, who is known for keeping things tidy and removing any kind of clutter, has accepted that even she will not be able to maintain a spotlessly clean and tidy home after the birth of her third child in 2021.

The decluttering queen admitted that she had "kind of given up" on maintaining an immaculately clean and tidy home while speaking at a webinar, according to the Washington Post.

"My house is messy, but the way I spend my time is the right way for me at this time, at this stage of my life," Kondo said, the outlet reported.

"Until now, I have been a professional neat freak, so I have done my best to keep my home tidy at all times," she said. Kondo added that she now understands what is important to her.

"I've kind of given up on that in a good way for me. Now I realise that what is important to me is to enjoy spending time at home with my children," Kondo said.

The author's tidying technique, known as the KonMari method, has helped many of her followers clear their homes of clutter and, according to Kondo, has changed their lives.

Her technique has made Kondo a household name around the world. The decluttering queen has also written a book about the KonMari method and Netflix has produced a series based on it.

"Tidying up our homes and our surroundings is also a way of tidying up our minds," she said. Kondo added that by tidying our brains and hearts, we can see what we really want.

Twitch streamer banned for 'sexual content' after flashing 'sexy' feet at fans

Twitch streamer JustKeth has apparently been banned from the platform for 'sexual content', leaving her Twitch partner confused and joking that her feet are too 'sexy' for the site.

A Twitch streamer has been banned from the platform for "sexual content" after flashing her "sexy" feet to fans in a livestream.

Content creator JustKeth found her account suspended after a harmless livestream was taken quite seriously by Twitch officials, who have since banned her account.

It comes after a recent broadcast showed the Thailand-based Twitch partner livestreaming a wheel game, where viewers could donate money to spin the wheel and have JustKeth perform the action it landed on.

One such action, 'show feet', appears to have resulted in the Twitch partner being kicked off the site, the streamer claimed on Twitter.

Commenting on the ban, which was confirmed yesterday (11 January), JustKeth said: "Twitch ban me 3 days as 'offering sexual content' asking for money/service that lead to sexually explicit.

"I'm doing wheel and only 2 option I can think its lead that is 1. squats 2. show feet!!!

"Damn its just a meme bruh is that my feet too sexy?"

JustKeth has also questioned the future of her account and partnership with the company, revealing that before the foot incident, people had tried to get her banned from the site.

Taking to Twitter, where the star has seen hundreds of people like and respond to her outrage at the ban, JustKeth added: "Partner streamer live depends on how much hater you have, if one person report you and Twitch agree then its just like that.

"There was another attempt to get me banned before this one, but they failed. The more eyes you have on your stream, the more trouble you get into".

Her comments about the ban were preceded by an announcement from the Twitch streamer, which read: "What a great start to the year for me lmao got twitch banned for 3 days".

How to get lean, sexy legs

My Reading Room

The lure of sexy legs is irresistible, so follow our tips to quickly achieve shapely, toned limbs.

The perennial appeal of the miniskirt reflects the undying appeal of legs. Well-toned legs are guaranteed to turn heads - and add strength and bounce to your stride. Some women are lucky enough to have shapely, well-proportioned limbs; others have to work hard to make the most of what they've got. But great-looking legs are within everyone's reach. Follow these tips to strengthen, shape, tone and style your legs and you'll soon be stepping out with confidence!

Get moving

Exercise is the key to great-looking legs. The basic shape of your legs may be determined by your genes, but legs are one of the easiest parts of the body to reshape - and it doesn't take long to see the results. Exercise burns fat and tones and defines muscle, giving legs a slimmer, more toned contour. Exercise also helps to reduce cellulite by improving circulation and speeding up the removal of waste products from sluggish, fatty areas such as the hips and thighs.

Improving circulation in the legs also helps to prevent or slow the development of varicose veins. There are many effective ways to slim and tone your legs - walking, swimming, weight training, aqua aerobics, water sports, cycling, spinning, stair climbing, step, yoga or dance classes; or sports such as netball, tennis or skating. Make sure your exercise programme includes at least 20 minutes of aerobic activity three or more times a week, plus strengthening and toning exercises.

Gym work

If you don't have a heavy training schedule, you shouldn't find that lifting weights builds up bulky legs. To develop and maintain a lean, toned shape, keep the weights light and the repetitions high. Try a few different exercise programmes until you find one that works well for you. You may have to work out for a few months before you see results, but you'll feel different almost immediately.

Walking

It's an easy, safe, fun and effective way to burn fat and tone your leg muscles. A brisk walk burns about 239 calories per hour; fast or uphill walking burns two to three times as much - as much as jogging without the exertion. Walking will tone and strengthen your hips and legs, and walking uphill (or on an incline if you're using a treadmill) will also strengthen your hamstrings and thigh muscles. To get the aerobic benefits, you should walk continuously for at least 20 minutes.

Take the stairs

Forget the lift - always take the stairs. Just 10 minutes of stair climbing (or hillwalking or rock climbing, if you're the outdoor type) will burn around 70 calories. And if you don't have enough steep inclines in your daily life, simulate them with a stepper. It's great for your calves, thighs and bum - and climbing stairs also gives you a good cardiovascular workout.

SIMPLE LEG SHAPERS

The following are exercises to strengthen and tone different parts of the leg. Increase the number of repetitions according to your fitness level - aim for muscle fatigue, but stop as soon as you feel a burning sensation. Remember: These exercises only tone muscle - they don't move fat.

My Reading Room

1. Inner thigh toner

Lie on side, bottom leg straight, top leg bent and crossed over it. Slowly lift and lower bottom leg, keeping knee facing the front. Repeat 20 times each side.

2. Outer thigh shaper

Lie on side, torso held firm, weight supported on elbow, bottom leg bent slightly. Slowly lift and lower top leg, keeping leg straight and knee to foot, hips aligned. Repeat 20 times each side.

3. Buttock and hip tightener

Kneel, resting torso weight on forearms. Bend one leg and raise it to hip height, foot flexed. Slowly raise and lower leg from floor to a position where the thigh is parallel to the floor no higher. Repeat 20 times each side.

4. Buttock and hamstring strengthener

Lie on floor, knees bent, feet apart, pelvis tucked under, stomach in. Squeeze cheeks of buttocks together tightly, raise bottom till thighs are parallel to floor, then lower. Repeat 10 times. Then raise buttocks and hold, pushing upwards, 10 times.

5. Quad (front of thigh) toner

Stand with legs slightly wider than hips, feet parallel. Suck stomach in and squat until knees are at a 90 degree angle to calves. Lower for count of 8, hold for 10, then rise for 8. Repeat with knees and feet in “turned-out” position.

6. Lunges

Keep your upper body straight. Step forward with one leg, lowering hips till both knees are bent at about a 90-degree angle, with front knee directly above your ankle, and other knee not touching the floor. Repeat 10 times, then switch legs.

HOLLYWOOD HOT LEGS
My Reading Room

Cameron Diaz : “The only leg exercise I get is walking in stilettos… but I think that’s enough to give me nice legs.”

My Reading Room

Jennifer Lopez : “To create definition between my legs and backside, my trainer makes me do ‘dead lifts’ – holding a heavy bar at my thighs and lowering it to the floor.”

My Reading Room

Christ ina Aguilera : “I keep my legs in shape with a daily treadmill and circuittraining routine. I like legs that aren’t pencilthin but are in good shape.”

My Reading Room

Gwen Stefani : “Girls who don’t work up a sweat just don’t get toned legs. And boy, I work up a sweat every day.”

My Reading Room

Jennifer Anist on : “I really look after them with a tough daily exercise routine which involves leg-burning elliptical workouts and Hatha yoga.”

My Reading Room

Sharon Stone : “People have asked how I stay in shape so many times over the years. So maybe I should tell them. I still do pushups and sit-ups. But I also try to do things like walking up stairs and not taking an escalator or elevator.”

Cycling or Spinning

Cycling not only gets you from A to B in an environmentally sound fashion, it’s also a wonderful way to tone thighs, strengthen hamstrings and firm flabby buttocks. Cycling is an effective fat burner too: Slow cycling burns around 240 kcal per hour; fast cycling, 260 – 590 kcal per hour. If you don’t feel like braving the traffic, you can use a stationary bike to get similar benefits.

Yoga

Yoga is based upon postures that gently, but persistently, work deep, intrinsic muscles, joints and ligaments to affect your weight and shape, as well as the functioning of your endocrine glands, organs, circulatory and respiratory systems. Yoga helps eliminate toxins and corrects hormonal imbalances, improving skin tone, reducing cellulite and smoothing contours. It also helps strengthen and tone internal and external muscles and realigns the whole body. The result is a leaner, stronger and more supple body, and greatly improved health and vitality. Your legs should become sleeker after three to six months of regular yoga classes.

Barre

One of the latest workout routines gaining popularity, Barre classes incorporate postures inspired by ballet, yoga and Pilates. These three disciplines work together to develop lean muscle, while improving flexibility and balance. Using the traditional ballet barre as a prop, routines focus on isometric strength training to tone, lift and burn fats – all at once. Stretching segments additionally help create long, lean muscles sans the bulk. Plus, you don’t even need prior dance experience to begin.

Step classes

“The problem for most women is they're carrying too much weight in the legs. Rather than more floor exercises, they need aerobic activity which is fat burning and weight bearing,” says fitness instructor Joanne Russell. “Step class fits the bill – it’s the most powerful leg-shaping and toning class ever invented!” In a Step class, jarring, joint-stressing jumps and jerks are replaced by simple but strenuous stepping, using an adjustable block.

You step up and down constantly for 60 minutes, working every major muscle group, especially those in the hips and thighs. In one class, you can burn as many calories as you would on an 11 km jog. Bonus: You don’t build bulky muscles; instead, you develop a lean, athletic shape with welldefined muscles and no excess fat.
