How to Make High Heels More Comfortable?

Let's face it: Flats are few and far between on the red carpet. Not only do celebrities love a good stiletto, but their heels are also major eye candy. Stuart Weitzman, Gianvito Rossi, Christian Louboutin - most red carpet staples are undeniably pretty... and can be oh-so painful. After a few hours, your feet are sore and you're wishing for a pair of $50 trainers.

Stars suffer too, and while they may have stylists to help ease the discomfort, you have expert Lindsay Albanese to share her industry secrets.

Ditch the blisters and chaffing: "I swear by moleskin [strips or bandages]," says Lindsay. "It's what all the stylists and celebrities in the industry use. Forget the Band-Aids... they always end up bunching up. Moleskin has a little bit of padding and a super sticky adhesive so it won't move! You can stick it on your foot like a Band-Aid or even on the inside of your shoes where it's rubbing or uncomfortable".

To avoid falling: "If you have slippery soles - you know, when you walk on a slippery surface and go 'Whoop!' as you try to regain your balance - try shuffling your feet a bit on cement or gravel," Lindsay suggests. "This will create little grooves [on the bottom of your shoes] so your heels won't slip as you walk." You can also use sandpaper, a nail file or anything with an abrasive surface to scrape the sole of your shoes and improve traction. Of course, if you're trying to preserve red soles, spray hairspray on the bottom and let it dry. It'll give you a bit of grip for a while.
