Are Seul-ki and Jong-woo still together at the end of "Single's Inferno" episode 2?

Spoilers for Single's Inferno Season 2 ahead. Single's Inferno, South Korea's answer to reality dating, has ended with three couples leaving paradise together. From the start of the Netflix hit, Shin Seul-ki was the most popular woman in the Season 2 cast. She had several suitors throughout her time on the show, but male contestant Choi Jong-woo was always by her side, even as she explored other relationships. Jong-woo finally got his chance to show her his true self in this week's two-episode finale, and his unwavering love finally won her over from bad boy Jin-young. 

What are Seul-ki and Jong-woo's ages and jobs?

One of the most intriguing things about the inferno half of the hit reality show is that the contestants aren't allowed to reveal their ages or professions. Instead, they only have to make connections based on their charm and personality (which means even more when you consider how important jobs are in South Korean dating culture). The cast can only find out each other's personal details if they make it to paradise as a couple.

Seul-ki is one of the first contestants to go to Paradise, so we quickly learn that she's a piano student at Seoul National University (which is basically South Korea's equivalent of Harvard). She's 25 years old in Korean, and a former winner of the Miss Chunhyang(opens in new tab) pageant, which celebrates traditional beauty in Korea.

Jong-woo's profession becomes one of the mysteries of the season, but we finally learn in episode 9 that he works as a barista in a family-owned coffee shop. His café is located in Gangwon-do and is known for its super sweet corn coffee, with Seul-ki actually recognising the place from Instagram. He's also the same age as Seul-ki, 25.

What happened between Seul-ki and Jong-woo in Single's Inferno 2?

In the first half of the season, Jong-woo remained loyal and respectful to Seul-ki and tried to spend as much time with her as possible in Inferno. Initially, the university student explored her relationships with surgeon Dong-woo and veteran Jin-young, and a love triangle eventually formed between Seul-ki, Jin-young and Jong-woo. The barista finally got his chance to choose her for the final trip to paradise after coming second to Jin-young in an intense wrestling match. During their date, the barista got the chance to charm Seul-ki; she seemed to like the fact that they were the same age and even recognised the cafe where he worked. When they returned to the Inferno, Jin-young remained shy about his feelings, while Jong-woo was always clear that he liked her from the beginning.

On the last day in Inferno, Seul-ki had three suitors: Dong-woo, who said that Seul-ki was the only one who made his heart beat faster, Jin-young, who was admittedly bad at expressing his feelings, and Jong-woo, who followed his heart and thought that she might not choose him anyway. In the end, she thanked Jong-woo for being honest with her the whole time... and decided to go with him! 

"I feel that someone who is like a friend and someone who makes me feel relaxed could be the person I can finally show my true self to," she said in her final confessional. "He always came to me first. So now I want to tell him that I want to approach him first.

Are Seul-ki and Jong-woo still dating?

Although they haven't confirmed their relationship outright, Seul-ki and Jong-woo have at least made their friendship official on Instagram! Yesterday, Jong-woo posted some adorable photo booth stills on his account, where he and Seul-ki are striking some cute couple poses in cartoon hats. Aside from this post, Seul-ki's Instagram(opens in new tab) is mostly selfies and artistic shots, while Jong-woo's(opens in new tab) features pictures of himself and some friends. Jong-woo also included a very cute picture(opens in new tab) of Seul-ki and So-e making a heart in his post reflecting on the show.

We actually got a big hint about the couple's status courtesy of Netflix Korea's YouTube channel The Swoon. The channel has uploaded a two-part reunion special for the show, in which the cast watch episodes 1-8 for the first time and share never-before-heard details about their time in Inferno. In the second half, both Seul-ki and Jong-woo watch the footage of Seul-ki's date with Jin-young for the first time, and they make interjections that show that they care a lot about each other and will react to what they see. 

We first hear Jong-woo's opinion about the date when he says: "I'm glad they just held hands". Joker Han-bin quickly breaks the tension by pointing out that he sat between Jong-woo and Jin-young "to prevent them from fighting". The special then switched to the girls, and after Seul-ki reacted to the clip, she remembered that Jong-woo would be watching. "Look away, Jong-woo!" she says. We may be reading too much into this, but the reactions seem to come from a couple trying to protect their partner's opinion, rather than from former flames.
