Remy Ma has been taken into custody for allegedly punching a Love & Hip Hop: New York cast member in the face.
A few weeks ago, Love & Hip Hop: New York‘s Brittney Taylor, claimed rapper Remy Ma punched her in the face. The pint-sized rapper, posted an Instagram video of herself with a swollen, black eye. In the video, she’s talking but the volume is muted. In her caption, she accused Remy of punching her.
According to the NY Daily News, the incident occurred on April 16, at the Irving Plaza in New York. Apparently, there was a prior incident involving Remy’s stepdaughter, Dejanae, during Spring Break in Miami. Brittney became very vocal about the “misunderstanding” and Remy was soon investigated after the alleged incident.
Brittney claims that in Miami, she saved Dejanae’s life after defending her against a man beat her up. “What happened with me and Dej in Miami is I saved her — I saved her life, and [Remy] got aggressive [when Brittany told her at Irving],” she told the news outlet. “She was like, ‘That’s not what I heard,’ and she punched me in the face,’ Brittney continued. Brittney’s alleged punch to the face happened during the Pretty Lou Benefit Concert hosted by Remy’s BFF Fat Joe.
Brittney's lawyer, Sanford Rubenstein, told NY Daily News, “Brittney Taylor is cooperating fully with the NYPD criminal probe. We are calling on any witnesses who saw what happened or have video of what happened to come forward.”
On May 1, Remy turned herself in and was arrested for misdemeanor assault. While cops are investigating, Brittney is gearing up to file a civil lawsuit against Remy. She's asking that police keep evidence, including surveillance footage of the alleged assault.
